New burger joint opening up soon
For those of you that know, it’s great news that Peter’s Gourmade Grill is moving to Tustin! I see that they’re still in prep mode, but once it’s open, show some love and pay a visit for lunch, or dinner, or lunch and dinner.

Oh, anyone stop by Gen yet?
For those of you who drive by Newport and Main, have you seen that Gen place with all those people waiting outside? Well…if not, shame. Because that’s the newest and greatest place for all you can eat Korean barbeque!
Seriously, people come from all over OC to get here, and we have it here right in our own backyard! My recommendation? Go on a weekday for lunch—that’s the best deal. And my favorite is still #1 - black angus steak. Steak!!! AYCE + steak = what’s not to like?!?

Hola!
Hey folks! How’s it going? I know, I know…it’s been a while since I’ve been blogging, or tumbling, to be exact. :)
But, we are back, and ready to get 2012 off to a great start! So, what’s up first? I’m glad you asked. We have a Love Tustin tee shirt design contest planned.
Why? Well, we always get raves about our tees wherever we’ve set up a booth. So, we thought it’d be great to have you Tustin folks get in the spirit and develop some hometown pride!
We’ve not worked out the details yet, but keep an eye out, and we’ll have more news soon, alright?

Penguins spend their whole lives looking for that one special penguin that they will be spending the rest of their lives with…
Patience and loyalty; something that Penguins have that most people lack.
Aww…

Today’s highlight is this delightful little izakaya in Tustin. Of all places, Honda Ya is one of the best food joints for good Japanese food in the OC…and can you believe it’s in Tustin? If you ever go, try the real experience and sit in the tatami room

Well…this looks good. John’s Place. Add to to do list. After that, add lose the weight from eating there to my list.
Hiding in Tustin, John’s Place is mom and pop joint that has everything on the menu. I mean everything, from gyros to patty melts to pancakes to burritos. If you want variety, this is your calling. This time, I came for the Fried Zucchini. Tired of the bullsh*t where it’s all buttermilk and breadcrumbs. Where’d the vegetable go? If it’s going to be fried, might as well get some serving of vegetables. ”I swear Mom, no more fried foods!”… after this!

JIA-CHI: Tustin, California

the usual scene. gates to suburbian peach-colored heaven.

Rutabegorz. My friend, Eric Brightwell, who blogs for Amoeba, has been doing a series of tours around both Los Angeles and Orange County cities, which he methodically documents with hand-drawn maps. Tustin was on his next…
